Italy–Veneto

Asiago

La Scodela,  Via G. Marconi, 12

If you are anywhere near Asiago, this spot is worth the drive for their amazing pizza. It’s called “Asiago Style” pizza and we thought it was some of the best pizza we’ve ever had. The pizza dough is amazing—but also the toppings. You can also order other dishes, such as pasta and salads, but make sure you try their wonderful pizza.

Bassano del Grappa

All’Alpino Trattoria Pizzeria-Contra S. Michele, 78

Outside of Bassano del Grappa, this pizzeria is a short drive to San Michele. The pizza is thin crust and excellent. They also serve salads and pasta dishes, beer and wine. For pizza lovers, this is worth the drive.

Located close to the historic bridge and surrounded by bars serving Grappa, this fun spot serves excellent bruschetta and small plates. It has a fun outdoor patio and a cosy interior. Service is fast and efficient at this popular spot in Bassano.

El Piron, Via Z. Bricito, 12

This small trattoria is up a side street from the main piazzas, so it’s a bit more quiet and relaxed. They serve traditional Veneto cuisine with the freshest ingredients. Good service and friendly people.

Nuovo Borgo, Via Margnan, 7

This wonderful restaurant is a little outside of the town center, but an easy walk. It has a cosy atmosphere and friendly staff with great service. The food is excellent—fresh, local and creative dishes using local products—a slow food establishment.
